Exam Time

16/11/2008 7:06am
Well I'm writing this mainly because I am bored out of my brains thanks to exams. I know that I should be busily occupying myself with research and understanding but I've been doing that for two weeks now and I'm thoroughly sick of it. This is obviously due to my foolhardy 'every waking hour' approach to study. At the start I vowed not to use this method but instead to try Hannah's do a set number of hours then you get the rest off. Problem is the University of Melbourne thoughtfully scheduled three exams within three working days for me which blew my mind and called for a lot of study. Anyway the last of those three will be my trusts exam tomomrrow, hopefully after this I can relax/procastinate without guilt. At the moment I continue on because I can look forward to holidays and spending time with Hannah-Lee (It should even be cycling time together as Han has entered herself into a big race/event but she should write something about that not me) and also the prospect of building a new computer. This is something I've wanted to do for a while and it seems it will happen, expect a blog post about this when it happens it should be a lot of fun and good learning experience. At the moment though reviewing endless reviews on different components is a good way for me to procrastinate. Anyway I really must get back to study now I suppose...

ATB! - 223Km (according to me)

01/11/2008 2:08am
Well It has actually been two weeks now since I completed ATB. Yes I made it all the way in an astonishing time of 10:28:58. Ok so not so astonishing. I had to get up at 4:45 and ride through the deserted streets of Melbourne in the dark, very odd. Still managed to get about 8 red lights too! how does that work, there were no cars? It was all really enjoyable except for waiting for the ferry for over an hour, I had to stand at the end of the jetty while it rained because I missed the previous ferry by about 20 riders. I was very sore at the end but ate a whole pizza and then won a free T-shirt (thanks Han) to make up for that.Overall it was awesome and I am so glad that I made it, it has been a goal of mine for a while to ride this. Now that I haven't been riding for 2 weeks i'm getting itchy calves again.

Hannah-Lee's 21st Birthday

24/09/2008 3:06pm
On the 7th of September I turned twenty-one, the day before (Saturday the 6th) we celebrated at the gorgeous Ripponlea Estate. Seated in the garden in front of the Mansion we shared a picnic. The gardens were really nice, and fun to explore, we had awesome weather. Thanks to those who came and helped out and those who got into the theme and wore a mask.

Saganaki - 5 years together

24/09/2008 12:36pm
On the 28th of August Michael and I celebrated five years together, as good as any other reason to use split bill tokens we went out. The restaurant of choice was Saganaki [a Greek restaurant at the docklands].We shared a spanakopita for entree, then I had the moussaka for mains while Michael enjoyed the keftede. The desert was a delicious custard creation called Galaktoboureko served with berry compote and kiwi fruit coulis. A good time was had by all and at a bargain price.

Wascawwy Wabbit

01/09/2008 11:21am
Last night (Sunday) as I was walking home from the station I noticed a rabbit on my front lawn, pretty random for in the middle of the city. So I assumed it must be someone pet, and set to work with the help of Rob to catch it. After stumbling around it the dark for a while I finally caught it. Rob stated afterwards that my animal catching skills impressed him- must have been all those years chasing after run away guinea pigs and rabbits. So we took it in for the night and kept it in a box. Someone made the mistake of naming it- Smoky- never name something or else you get attached to it. I realised it must have escaped from the day-care centre up the road so I took it back in the morning, her name is Charlie, she is white and has lots of grey spots. So I thought I would share her with you.
